Martyna Lorenc

Martyna Lorenc (Marty/sie), geb. 1987 in Polen, bewegt sich in verschiedenen künstlerischen und aktivistischen Kontexten als darstellende Künstlerin, Pädagogin, Gruppenleiterin und Koordinatorin. Seit 2010 arbeitet sie in Österreich sowie international.
Während und nach ihrer akademischen Ausbildung in Kognitionswissenschaft (MSc), zeitgenössischem Tanz (BA) und Tanzpädagogik (BA) arbeitete Marty als Tänzerin und Performerin mit verschiedenen Tanzkompanien und unabhängigen Choreograf*innen in der freien Szene. Parallel entwickelte sie eigene Projekte.
In ihrer künstlerischen Praxis erforscht Marty Somatik und Imagination als poetische und widerstandsfähige Dimensionen des Lebens sowie als Handlungsfelder gesellschaftlicher Transformation.
Seit 2018 ist Marty Teil des LAB ON STAGE Kollektivs und gründete 2024 das fem*voice kollektiv mit. Seit 2020 ist Marty bei maiz – Autonomes Zentrum für und von Migrantinnen – an der Konzeption, Organisation und pädagogische Begleitung von Jugendprojekten beteiligt.

Martyna Lorenc (she/Marty) moves in various artistic and activist contexts as a performing artist, choreographer, group facilitator and coordinator. Marty was born in Poland in 1987 and has been living and working in Austria and internationally since 2010. During and after her academic training in cognitive science (Msc.), contemporary dance (BA) and dance pedagogy, Marty worked as a dancer and performer with various dance companies and independent choreographers in the free scene.

In the artistic work, Marty explores the realms of somatics and imagination as poetic and resistant dimensions of existence. Her works encompass various formats, from stage performances to club sessions and video installations. Martyna’s work is based on critical reflection on social conditions and centers bodies and imagination in the search for spaces of action and transformation. 

Marty has been part of the art collective LAB ON STAGE since 2018 and co-founder and part of the initiative fem*voice kollektiv since 2024. Since 2020, Marty has been involved at maiz – autonomous center by and for migrant women - in the conception, organization, and facilitation of youth projects.
