The Body as a Sonic Home (English)
Sound-Workshop mit Tonica Hunter
Home must not fade into the echo of nationalist sounds.
This entry level workshop for amateur/beginner/curious minds invites participants to tune in to the body’s “inner ear” and recall the sounds they associate with home. DJ and curator Tonica Hunter shares techniques of sounding and soundscaping from their own artistic practice. How can memories be made audible? How can stories be told through sound – and how can we learn to listen to them, honouring knowledge of the body?
No prior experience is required. The focus is on exploring and experimenting together.
Sign up by using the drow down menus below.
The workshops are thematically connected but can also be attended individually. The workshop is free. We especially encourage people with migration experience to register.
An event in the series Wer will heimaten?
In cooperation with “Erinnern in Zukunft” at Brunnenpassage. As part of the heimaten network, an initiative of Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW).
